I am a white man married to a black woman born in Africa. We are a "métissé" couple as they say in France.

What is interesting with your story is that I feel the same way the other way around.

I never realized how much of a white privilege I had until I met my wife who is black.

It reinforces my idea that it is essential to mix in order to better understand how others feel.

It is also important to talk about the real things that hurt so that we can then try to find answers to make things better in the future.

We need to make that for our children.
